Blissymbolics is a symbolic, graphical language that is currently composed of over 3,000 symbols. Bliss-characters can be combined and recombined in endless ways to create new symbols. Bliss-words can be sequenced to form many types of sentences, and express many grammatical capabilities. Simple shapes are used to keep the symbols easy and fast to draw.

Blissymbolics Communication International (BCI) is a non-profit, charitable organization that has the perpetual, worldwide, exclusive licence for the use and publication of Blissymbols for persons with communication, language, and learning difficulties. BCI provides leadership world-wide to the development of the system of Blissymbolics and to its use by persons with severe speech and physical impairments.
